Ficlets

Back at the hotel

We didnt speak until getting back to our hotel room with the Domino’s pizza we’d picked up on the way back. We placed our violin cases next to the television, and sat down to eat.
“Pretty girl.” I said, trying to make some small talk. John simply nodded and continued scarfing his pepparoni pizza slice.
“She’s probly too classy for either of us.” I said, sliding the words out of my mouth cautiously. He glanced at me and chuckled to lighten the atmosphere of the conversation.
“No girl is too classy if you got the right moves, my friend. Just watch the master.”
I clicked my tongue, “You’re not the only one with fancy moves, ya know.”
He looked at me and grinned.
“Is that a challenge?”
I crossed and uncrossed my fingers repeatedly, wondering what i should say.
“Only if you take it as one.”
He nodded and reclined in his chair.
“So what d’ya wanna give it? Five months?”
“Let’s make it six, for your sake.”
He chuckled and shook my hand.
“It’s a deal.”
