Her First Time Getting Lost
There was a sudden surge of people, all flooding the platform, shoving and pushing, she was lost among them. She cried for Benjamin, but she couldn’t see him, there were just so many people.
She was pushed along with the crowd onto the train, the train she thought Benjamin must be on. The doors quickly closed. Outside she could see Benjamin frantically looking for her. An instant before the train began to pull away, he noticed her pleading stare from the train. He ran to it, shouting something to her.
“Get off at the next platform! Stay there and I’ll come get you!” He cried, but she couldn’t understand what he was saying. The train quickly pulled away, leaving Benjamin standing there bewildered, and Nancy all alone in the urban jungle.
The train was crowded, nowhere to sit. She clung to a metal pole, praying that she wouldn’t get some kind of disease from doing so. Every time the train lurched, Nancy lurched with it. They all could tell she was new at this.
