Future Moments Destroyed

Every couple minutes I was looking out the window, checking to see if he was here yet. Fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth period flew by. Finally, finally! School’s over in three.. two.. one..

..yeahhh baby.

I started to run to my locker – but then remembered that I still “hate” him, so I can’t look anxious. Especially around Kait, she’s really good at putting two-and-two together.

Throwing my bookbag over my shoulder, I was ready. And right on cue, here came Kait.

“Hey – so should I just go to your house and chill until you get back then?”

I snapped out of my daze. “Huh?”

“Oh! Brilliant idea! I could walk behind you, and then if he tries to make a move, I’ll just run up and start talking to you! Aren’t I brilliant? You’re so lucky to have me.”

“Uh, yeah Kai-”

There he was.
