Red Base 9
Within 2 hours I was on my way to Red Base 9 via an underground transport. When I reached the Red Base 9 station, i stepped out of the Mono-rail train and looked around inside the enormous facility. three Battleships could be housed in the main section alone, and the hanger could hold over 100 fighters.
The Base was an enormous dome made of enhanced glass. It had several other sections besides the center including a sleeping quarters and hanger. You could’ve fit New York City inside of it.
Scientists there had been toying with plasma technology and had manged to create a shield around the dome. It was a futuristic Troy.
I was almost too amazed to notice Ashley approaching me.
“Where’ve you been, slacker?”
I gave a tired smile, “I spent several days out east, had myself a little vacation. It was quite enjoyable.”
We both laughed and started to walk together.
“How’d you get out alive? I saw the whole ship go up.”
“I have my ways. But enough about me, Fritz is waiting for you in the infirmary.”
