We lay under the sky as he looks into my eyes, his looking wildly hopeful. The moonlight reflects off his dark, maple-colored hair. I smile at him as he smiles back, holding my face in his strong hands.
“Your eyes are brilliant in the dark, so green.” he said kissing the top of my head three times.

“I love you,” I say, it surprises me that such strong words can be held in such a soft and gentle whisper.
“I love you too,” I look back up into the blanket of stars, they’re like little sparks that light up the sky, and for this moment, I belive they’re just for us.
So we can remember this moment forever.
He pulls in closer to me, his minty breath blows gently across my face for the briefest second.
Then he kisses me, and I kiss him back, hoping to let him know, in that kiss, how much I needed him.
Then, as if he can read my mind, he says
“I already know.”
