The ABC's of Marriage.
“Ashley,” he whispered. The TV glowed his face pale blue and his eyes were sparkling coal. Sound like an alien? Nope, just Jack.
I snuggled closer, likeing the feeling of his breath tickle my earlobe. I hummed the ABC ’s. Brandy was yelling and walking around in the kitchen.
Just as I closed my eyes they fluttered open as Jack rolled over on top of me.
“Ashley,” he said again, more demanding.
“What?” I asked, absentmindedly running my fingers through his soft hair.
“Ashley Kadop,” he whispered. I chuckled, though my names and his last name did have a funny little ring to it.
He looked straight into me and I froze then. Our eyes were no where but lost in each others.
He let his weight fall on me for just a moment before turning slightly so we were back watching TV, snuggling on the futon.
For the rest of Gossip Girl’s lame drama I couldn’t see the TV and I could not hear what thy were saying.
My head was filling with Jack saying my name, his name.
Me and Jack. Jack and me. Jack and Ashley. Always.
