The Play's The Thing
Seth looked at the posting on the school bulletin board, once again to see that he didn’t get a part in the school play.
“What’s the matter Seth?,â? his friend David asked.
“As usual I didn’t get a part,â? Seth whined.
“That’s cause your audition sucked bro,â? David laughed, “Know what you should do Seth?, get voice lessons and by the time the spring musical comes around you’ll be a shoo in for the lead.â?
“I..I don’t know David, I don’t even sing in the showerâ?, Seth said.
“Well dude, then that’s where you gotta start. Don’t worry that it’s not good enough for anyone else to hear. Just sing, Sing out loud,â? David started singing, students at their lockers looked at David with rolled eyes and head shakes. David was used to that. It’s why Seth and David were best friends, both were outcasts, misfits.
“Ok David, I’m convinced. By Spring I’ll be the lead!â?, Seth said with conviction in his voice.
“That’s the spirit dude, that’s the spirit,â? David said as he slapped Seth on the back.
