Oh come on now, gray hairs are a ways away for a 29 year old! I like your approach to approaching 30. No shame in getting older—it’s natural, unlike those haughty taughty south bleachers (puns intended).
I’ve had some gray in my hair for several years now, carefully disguised beneath layers of color. It’s a genetic thing – my mom started going gray at 13. And your intended puns were hilarious. :p
I turned 30 a year and change ago (and as a Libra to boot, though couldn’t tell a gardenia from a sock). I was one of those who tried to convince myself that 30 was the new 25, until I realized that I still have a bald spot that’s eating my head like the spot that ate Jupiter in 2010. Nice ficlet, btw. : )
My mother-in -law says she would NEVER go back to her twenties, with the debts, the small children, the lack of career and solidarity. My husband hates his birthday. At least he’s stopped staying in bed all day, afraid of getting older and passing life by. I, on the other hand, take a view similar to yours, Ana. I am not 30 yet, but I’m quite close, and I hope to be farther along and a better, wiser person then than I am now.
