The heavily adjectival sentences are a bit rough, since they crowd out the action, but they do keep it uncommonly vivid.

Definitely needs sequels, and I’m looking forward to them.
Agreed that it has very little action, but I love the detail.

Very sublte hinting at the situation (preacher of some sort) and the little tidbits of, shall we say, potential for impropriety.
