That’s terrific. I thought you’d blown it by having Buster move already, but the inter-cut “Release” bit as he walks toward the edge is just plain great tension. Good stuff.

I actually had a lot more in there before he decided to move, but it was in the 650 or so characters that had to be cut.

I’m loving the idea of Ficlets and letting others take your work and run with it. Interesting and dicey all at once. Especially for anal retentive, over protective creatives like myself.
