You might want to pick a different organism next time. A 120 second doubling time is unheard of, even for bacteria. But more to the point, the genus Tannerella consists of obligate anaerobes, and those organisms would be decidedly unhappy with the additional oxygen. :)
Perhaps it wasn’t the 02 the critters loved, but something else in the air…. While 120 doubling rate is rare, I’d think talking bacteria are even rarer. Such is science fiction, I guess.
