Believing and seeing
Some people wear tinfoil helmets and keep away from windows. Some analyse photos endlessly. Some make constant requests for us to be given “the truth”.
It goes without saying that all are insane. Of course, insanity is in the eye of the beholder, so to speak. Nevertheless, it is undoubtedly true that all who hold to these mad theories are, to be polite, misinformed.
They’re not the ones I feel sorry for.
The people who really deserve pity are those who believe that all that we see is all that there is, that the universe is ordered, that we can somehow understand. These are the people who run our governments, who control our society. There is no conspiracy, but equally there is no truth in these people.
You may call me mad. You will definitely call me stupid. But I know what I saw, and what I heard, and I know that nothing that you can possibly tell me can dissuade me.
Let me tell you who I am.
