First Crush/First Loss

I think that life was easier when I was younger. It was a simple time. I didn’t really have to deal with the excessive amounts of things as kids do now. But I digress, this story is about my first crush(es). They were best friends, and I always liked them. Beautiful and smart, but one problem: I was twelve and they were four years my senior. I really didn’t care. I was so reckless with it too. I would tell them, ‘I know I’m young. But you know I’m smart. One date and I’m pretty sure you’ll love me.’ They would always laugh, and I with them.

Years passed. I seen them less. I would still flirt with them, out of habit. One of them had kids, two I think. The other one became a teacher. I always would tell her, passing in the street, ‘I’m hot for teacher!’, resulting in laughs as usual. But I was supposed to lose, because when I told the hot teacher that I was interested in her and why, she told me, “You’re a good man, and I know you would take good care of me, you’re still that funny kid when I was younger.”
