Symbolism and Such
On a recent trip to the local outlet mall, in search of new employment, my writers brain took over me suddenly.
I peered inside all the storefronts as I was passing by. What if each store represented a time in life? Where I could stand outside and vicariously observe.
Some of these stores have memories, from years back. Like a former job. Or a failed interview. One store comes to mind, where I had applied in the past, but choked during the interview, due to nerves.
It almost made me think of the whole Christmas Carol theme. When Ebinezer Scrooge was able to take a glimpse at various times in his live, with the aid of a ghost.
It was almost the same sort of situation. Only in a more personal retrospective way.
I must have canvased the whole mall from end to end, in persuit of a job. If you knew the campus size, this is no small feat. It was strange how these thoughts came at me.
And if the windows were moments. The people around me were the days of my life, that had passed. I was emmersed.
