Trouble in aTexas Town
Ashlee stood in front of Mr. Garrs’ house.
Everyone knew Mr. Garr had gone off the deep end after his only daughter was killed in a car accident by a hit and run driver.
The driver of the car was never found. In a town as small as theirs, speculation grew as to the identity of the hit and run driver was.
Mr. Garr, when he saw Ashlee, who was his daughters best friend in life, and resembled her slightly in hair and eye color, he ran out onto his porch, arms outstretched, “Darla, you’ve come back to me baby girl.”
He grabbed Ashlee in a bear hug that she could not escape.
“No, no Mr. Garr, it’s me, Ashlee, “she cried and he released her.
“Oh, Oh what happened to my baby?”, he whaled.
Ashlee ran as fast as she could to the other side of the street nd watched poor Mr Garr step back inside his darkened house and slam the door.
Ashlee felt so guilty because she knew who the hit and run driver was. But everyone’s life would change if she told the truth of that horrible night. Especially hers.
