The light
The room was dark and the pain would not go away. Raulph could feel the light that was not there. It pierced his mind. In the light all was agony, but in the dark the agony was in his head. Which seemed an appropriate enough thought as all the doctors continued to tell him that it was all in his head. But they had not experienced the fire of the light and the demon of the sun screaching in his ears. They did not hear it or feal it. It was beyond the CT’s and the MRI ’s and the drug therapies.
The darkness could soothe the tension in his neck and his jaw. it made him function. but someone would always bring the light in again. For food the light would come. For supposed love the light would come. For the new drug that was supposed to bring him back to the terror of the light.
The light was pain. It shone on the cracks and the crags. The light saw to much. Raulph could not allow it to see so deep. The secrets must be kept.
