And she says...
My heart was thumping loudly against my chest. It was so loud i thought she could hear it. It was hard to say anything until I looked into her eyes.
“Hey… I was wondering if we could go to the next football game together?” I said, half my mind absorbed by her presence.
She didn’t look very surprised, then again maybe i couldn’t see it with her mouth taped over.
She looked into my eyes, nodded and gave me a thumbs-up before going back into the kennel room.
I was too mesmorized to think about anything except her. She said yes!!!!
I absent-mindedly went to my locker and straight to my first period class. I didn’t hear anyone else speaking. Matt only gave me a friendly punch to the shoulder, giving me a “good job, man” look.
In my 1st period class, we took a test on poems and the history of poetry. At the end, we had a free sheet to write our own poem on for 10 points of extra credit. Sure, why not
I poured all my feelings for Emily into that poem, making it, in my opinion, my opus magnum.
