My Hopes Fell
“Hey, Bryan? Do you think you could do me a favor?” He looked up from his sketch book and half-heartedly glared at me.
“Ngh.”
“Is that a yes or a no?” I was having all too much fun. I looked over to Emily and with my eyes dared hre to come over by us.
“What is the favor?”
“I need you to hold this book,” I wave the copy of Eclipse I have in my hands in his face, “And not give it to Emily. Until you guys have a conversation.” I wait a few seconds before adding, as an afterthought, “At least five sentences long.”
He looked at me like I was crazy. Then his expression changed to a more murderous direction. ‘Maybe he’ll finally get over his little thing for me,’ I think hopefully.
“No.”
My hopes fell. “Please?”
“No.”
I walked back over to Emily and waved the book in her face calmly explaining the terms to get her book back. “Oh, and that idiot over there is impossible,” I added as a last blow before leaving with the book.
