Everyone has a Story
“We all have a story to tell, every single one of us… I’d like to hear them.” I said in a relaxing tone.
“Me too.” said Kait
I sat there, just enjoying the passing minutes, sipping my wine now and then. It was nearly midnight.
“It’s getting late.” I said
“I’m not tired, you?”
I shook my head and took another sip of my wine. She touched my hand softly.
“You trust me, don’t you?”
I looked into her eyes and gave her a tired smile, “Of course I do, you’ve been great, really… it just hasn’t been easy for me lately.”
She bit her lip, “I’d like to hear your story, you know… I want to know what happened, Tom. You really mean alot to me.”
She broke contact with my eyes. I enjoyed making her talk.
“I do?”
she looked at me again and put a soft hand on my cheek. Tears began to well in her eyes.
“Yes, Tom, you do…”
I too felt tears starting to push against my eyes. She had been so good to me… why didn’t I see that before? We embraced, and held each other for a long time.
