Staking my Territory
“This is Brandon Sumaw,” I was grinning at the looks he was getting from everyone. Adoring looks from the girls and murderous glares from the guys. “He’s an old friend of mine so he’ll be following my schedule today to see if he likes the school. He’ll be in all my classes so it seemed fitting.” I led Brandon to my seat and the newly vacated one next to it.
Brandon had managed to get a seat next to me in every class but Lit. I had the perfect table in Lit. and wasn’t about to give it up. “You do realize that every girl in this school is going to be hanging all over you, right?”
He smiled and pretended to pay attention to Ashley doing morning prayer. When she finally finished he decided he couldn’t resist having the last word, “Did you say anything during prayer? Oh, I love the possesive way you were talking about me.”
“Just making sure they knew you were taken.”
“Oh, really? Do I get a say in that?”
“No. C’mon, math class is waiting.” He snaked his arm around my waist and I grinned.
