No one really knew. How could they. Things like that don’t really happen, is what most people would say if someone told them. Oh well, their loss. No one could even fathom what those dull, lifeless, and unmoving eyes seen. She has seen childhoods ripped apart. She saw many, many terrible things, all because she wanted to live forever. She made a deal with the Devil where she would live forever and keep her soul. However, he desired her body (he is the Devil, and lust is a favorite sin of his), so he gave her immortality and invulnerability, to boot. But she can’t enjoy it or anything life has to offer. Oh well, back to the story. She witnessed homes with everything but happiness and homes with nothing but happiness. She saw a girl become a woman. She saw the same girl’s many secret trysts. She watched that girl’s brother usher her friends into womanhood too early. She saw the girl become a rock star without the music. She watched lives unfolding for the rest of eternity, without being able to help or guide.
