Circles, Like Words, With Two Uses

If I had crapped my pants at this moment, I like to think my girlfriend wouldn’t have told anyone. The look on her face shifted quickly from relief to shock, wavered around slow realization for a moment, then settled quite decidedly into her angry face.

“Look, sweetie, Chloe, I can explain,” I started.

She cut me off, “Oh, I think the less you can explain the better it is for your case right now.” That made it tricky to continue.

“I can’t believe this. I refuse to believe this.” Another epiphany sparked, and she stole a quick glance at the brahgus, “You knew what this was all along, didn’t you?”

“Well, yes, but..” As I went on explaining, I failed to notice Kennet working by the fire. I say this not in my defense, as there’s really no excuse. I got into a habit, you see. I’d been using the stone Echnit circle as protection for so long, I’d forgotten its other use. Transportation.
