Life as it Used to Be
I am not sure where we the people of America got lost but it happened somtime in the 20ish years of my life. Yes I still had memories of what the true meaning of life was but they were fading very fast. The days of love and compassion and family were coming to an end and there was no way to stop it. No way to advoid the inevitable…losing America. The days of open land, of helping each other, barn raisings and picnics were a thing of the past and I found myself stuck in a world of SUV ’s, cell phones, and houses bulit 12 feet apart. I longed for the life I had. Food that tastes like cardboard filled with preservatives and additivies to keep shelf life over 2 years without the process of “canning”. Milk on the shelf that is good for 11/2 months when just 20 years ago if you didn’t use the milk bought at the store it spoiled in a week. Beef with hormones. Chickens that are raised in 6 weeks and sent to the market. Oh to have a bon fire and roast a marshmellow without having to apply for a permit.
