Down a dusty road
Slowly she makes she way down the dusty road lost in her thoughts. Occasionally she stumbles, but quickly picks herself up, and back into reality. Not having slept a full night in too long gives her a slow, precarious gait, but no one’s around to see her tired eyes, disheveled hair, or the tears streaming down her cheeks. So many thoughts running through her head, and because she’s no idea why she cries, she cries harder.
When did it all go wrong? And was it ever really right? More questions cross her mind, each gone quicker than the last, and none getting more than a second’s contemplation. Too much to think about, combined with too little sleep were the cause of the ache behind her eyes.
Her destination unknown, her place of departure forgotten, she continued down the empty road.
