Forget Your Missing Child.
“Any missing child reports?” I threw my coat onto my desk and stared at Kevin.
“Nope. It’s been real quiet since you left for that cruise.” Kevin appraised me and added, “Speaking of that cruise, which you haven’t done I might add, wasn’t that supposed to relax you? You know, give you a little spare time to spend with Crabby. Not make you like Crabby and definitely Not make you even more tense so you could bust my chops all day!” I appreciated his attempt to cheer me up and smiled.
“Yes, it was; and it did!” I grabbed a cup of coffee and sat down at my desk, making a mental note to have Linda check up on older missing child reports. He was still waiting for me to talk about the cruise so I steered the conversation a different way. “It was just something that happened on my way into the office…” I debated telling Kevin about the girl but shook my head. He didn’t need to know anything. “Never mind.”
Crrshrrshr Kevin picked up the radio, “Forget your missing child. Fire on 25th street!”
