The Jonas Robbery Part 9: Kevin Tells The Truth
I saw at least ten cop cars outside when we reached the front of the store. Many of the famaled cashiers were weeping. Others just looked shocked. It didn’t seem like anyone had been harmed.
A short, stocky police man came over to us. “Are you okay, ma’am?” he asked me.
“No…I broke my ankle,” I replied. “There were two robbers, they tried to kill us. They were gonna shoot us, but then…” My voice trailed off, and I looked toward Kevin. I didn’t know if I should tell the police what Kevin did or not. Would he get in trouble?
“One of them was chasing us. Then another came and put a gun to my brother’s head. So I grabbed a can off the shelf and hit him with it. My brother would have died if I hadn’t,” Kevin said.
The police man stared at us for a moment. “I see,” he said. “Well, we’re going to have to get you to the hospital,” he motioned towards me, “There’s an ambulance right outside.”
