I knelt down at the edge of the inlet and cupped some water in my hands. I brought my hands to my face to smell the water. It looked clean. I knew that there could be hidden dangers and that drinking the water was risky. I felt like I had no other choice. I sipped from cupped hands. The water tasted cool and refreshing. After drinking my fill, I filled the empty containers.
I looked at the water in the inlet. It was clear. I saw no fish or other water animals. The bottom of the pool appeared to be pebbled. I did not know if I was the sort of person that might skinny-dip; however, the potential for cleanliness and the temptation was too great. I stripped from my clothes. Leaving my clothes and backpack near the shore, I stepped away from the bank.
