Found In the Rain (Sorry, not Kait)
“You want me to help?” I asked, but Autumn had already hung up.
I grabbed a windbreaker, got into a pair of sweatpants, and ran out into the rain.
I started out in the direction I saw Kait run, and called out her name.
“KAIT!!” I yelled.
I ran all through my neighborhood, but to no avail. I lost all hope and started home until a car pulled up and stopped by me. The window opened, and I saw Autumn’s mom looking out at me.
“What are you doing out here, Warren?” She asked.
She and my mom are really good friends.
“I’m trying to find a girl named Kait, Mrs. Radk.” I said. “Would you know where she is?”
“We are looking for he too, hop in.”
“Thank you.”
I’ve been in Mrs. Radk’s car before, but there was something different when I got in next to Autumn.
“Hey.” I said, acting like we weren’t going out or we just spent the afternoon making out at my house.
“Hi.” She said, totally going with it.
I smiled at her as we drove off into the rain.
