I once read that the seven wonders of the world are sight, taste, sound, touch, smell, awe, and hope. To you, was this person correct? Why, or why not?
Answer:
The five senses we are born with–
sight, taste, smell, touch, and hearing –
are gifts from nature.
We don’t always
remember to value
these gifts.
...
It is based on these
impulses
that we live,
creating art,
creating friendships,
creating war,
creating even
life.

I’ve learned
the value of my body,
of my senses.
...
I have learned to
value the world around me.
In discovering the value of my senses,
I have stumbled upon
two new wonders,
awe and hope.
It is in watching the
sun rise, in tasting new flavors,
in smelling a rose
that I have learned awe.
It is in feeling a
newborn baby’s
tiny hand grip my own,
in hearing the
aspirations of children
that I have learned hope.

Yes, these are the true seven wonders. Without them, the other “wonders of the worldâ€? wouldn’t exist.
