Sudden S.O.S
“My parents died in a car accident when I was nine, I survived. I had called 911 on my Mom’s cell phone. The operator thought I was making prank calls. When the ambulance came it was too late. I was sent to live with my Aunt and my Uncle. He said he didn’t want me. ” The tears threatened to start back up again but I held them back stubbornly.
“I became obsessed with First Aid. I didn’t want anything like that to ever happen to me again.” When I finished I felt slightly embarrased. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to dump that on you.”
“No. It’s ok, I’m sorry you had to go through all that.”
“Don’t be. I turned out all right.”
“You’re amazing.”
“What?”
“I’ve never met anyone like you.” he continued. “Anyone else in that situation might have become depressed or even had a panic attack when they saw Moe. You didn’t let what happened to you hold you down That’s what makes you so amazing, Wes.”
I threw my arms around his neck. “Thanks for listening.”
Kevin hugged me back. “I’m just glad I could help.”
