Hide and Seek (part 5)

He was beautiful. Snow crystals were caught in his hair, making it sparkle anytime he moved. His face was flushed, both from the cold and having just run after me. The warm smile I knew so well was spread across his face, and his eyes, as dark as they were, shone in the moonlight. They locked with mine, and I almost forgot how to breathe.

“Caught you,” he gasped, still unable to catch his breath, “Again.” I laughed, and leaned down to kiss his cheek. Afraid that he was getting too cold from the snow he was laying on, I stood up, a little off balance. I began to walk around the shed to the front, where we’d start our game again. Before I’d walked two steps, however, he grabbed my arm and pulled me back.

Pushing me gently against the side of the shed, he closed the distance that was left between our lips. Shivers ran down my spine as I felt his hot breath on my cold skin. One of his hands rested against the wall of the shed while the other held my face.
