Preparation
As I toss my trenchcoat over my unused bed, I find my thoughts drifting to Emily. I have to wonder if she’s ok, it was my fault she got hurt, after all. I pull on a long-sleeved blue shirt and worn jeans, not exactly stereotypical garb for a fiend like me, but why give up my previous identity to steal blood?
It’s horrible, even as I think about it I shudder, but I know that choosing to take the blood of my friends has made this transition easier for me. I can still be who I was. I don’t get lonely, anyway.
I’m starting to get sensitive to sunlight; it burns me much easier now, especially my eyes. I wear sunglasses during the day, and try to avoid tank tops and shorts unless it’s cloudy, or I’m inside all day. Today is mildly overcast, but it should clear up later. Time to cover up.
Most people picture vampires as these irresistible Gothic sluts, just ready to pounce on a man or woman and make them their own. I just don’t fit the stereotype. Oops my bad.
Time for school. Biology is a sin against nature.
