Vince Never...

“Don’t tease me, Kevin.” The pitying look in Kevin’s eyes made me even angrier. “Kevin! I don’t have time for this!” I threw the picture down on his desk and stalked off, yelling over my shoulder, “I’m going for a coffee. I want you to find out all you can about that family.”

I kick started my bike and fixed the helmet on my head. When I pulled the bike to the street and waited for traffic my head casually looked to both my left and right and I did a quick double take.

There was a figure walking towards me with a smile and blonde hair. They were too far away to get a closer look in the foggy atmosphere. My eyes started to tear and I firmly whispered to myself, “It’s not him. It’s not him.” Sure enough when the person got closer I saw that his head was too small and his hair was side-parted. Vince never side-parted…

A red light showed down the street and I pulled out onto the now clear road with tears misting my vision.
