Gleaming Skyscrapers
As I was walking towards the big building, I guess you could call it a skyscraper, I felt like I was going to hurl. I was about ten minutes late for my job interview and was freaking out. I’m so not going to get that job, I thought. There is no way.
I walked through the super clean and shiny revolving doors and then walked towards the elevator. I pushed the up button, and while I was waiting for the elevator to arrive I thought of excuses for being late. I was in a car crash and had to wait for the tow truck, or how about my father was practically dying because he forgot his medicine and I had to rush to the drug store to get it for him? Heh, those excuses would never work.
The elevator opened and I walked towards the office. I pushed open the gleaming door and soon realized that this place was polished to perfection. I went to the front desk and told the receptionist I had a job interview. “Gracie Colmane?” she asked. “Yes,” I replied. “You’re late,” she stated flatly. “Yes I know.”
