Castle by the Sea
Living in a castle by the sea is not as magical as you think. Yes, it’s lovely here. Yes, the water is wonderful. Yes, the clouds part & the sun kisses my lashes and birds sing and, every now and then, a dragon swoops by for a visit.
But do you understand how incredibly boring it gets? No ships sail by because of that damn dragon & the waters are so deep that fish rarely come to the surface. Entertainment? Please. You hear one mermaid song, you’ve heard them all. And they are awful. If you’ve never heard of the lake effect, let me enlighten you: it’s damn cold up in here.
I don’t even have something to look forward to like a warrior queen coming to release me from a curse or an evil step-father. I’m not under a curse. My father’s pretty much a pushover. No one even thinks of coming here to save me from my boredom. Particularly not beautiful women with swords & flying horses. Sometimes I consider faking a curse or tyranny or something just to get some company.
So yeah, castle by the sea? Not so awesome.
