“Are you mad at me?” He suddenly spat out. ”...it’s just that you’ve been very distant lately. I asked Julie if she thought you’d been acting strange…but I seem to be the only one that thinks so…” His voice was breaking.
He felt her soft hand in his face, her eyes fixated on him.

Her face turned bright red, her voice quivering, her usually steady hands trembling. She was shaking all over.
She had stopped talking to him, but not because she was mad. She just couldn’t take the pain of being with him – wanting him – but knowing he didn’t love her back.
