Why don’t these people try to be a little less predictable? Me: “He is. Why is that inappropriate?â€?
Teacher: “It’s not the best topic for discussion in class.â€?
Uh yeah, no der. Me: “I find it easier to get the gossip over with first.â€?
Teacher (confused): “How many times have you moved?â€?
Me: “13 times. I probably won’t be here very long.â€?
The look of shock and pity on her face is priceless, I wish I could whip out my phone and take a picture of it. Actually, I wish I could take a picture everytime someone made that face and sell each one on Ebay for 5 cents. I’d be a millionare by now.
Teacher: “Oh, well, you must have seen a lot of places then.â€?
I shrug: “Just a lot of states.â€? Ok, not totally true. I have actually been out of the country several times, just not to live, more like on an ‘extended vacation.’ Don’t ask. My life is complicated.
