Roses 7: The End

Finally, I went alone. My best friend had to do something with the family but I didn’t want to wait any longer. I had a flashlight, a sleeping bag, a snack, a water bottle, bug spray, and some books to kill time. The moon was full and stared down at me, his twinkling star sisters dancing through the tree tops their branches swaying with the wind. The mist was creeping up from the moors. A light turned on below in my house. As I watched, the door opened and someone’s shadow stepped outside. The light went out, and I couldn’t see a thing. Then, walking through the mist towards me was a figure in a black cloak. He wasn’t walking toward me though, hidden behind the bush, he walked right by me to the gravestone, and laid two red roses on the grave.
Grandpa turned to the bush where I was hiding, “Come out, girlie, and let me tell you a story.â€?
