Heartache
Elizabeth left work with a heavy angry feeling.
They tried to get her to stay later, but she declined.
Her supervisor gave her attitude. But she had enough.
Nope that was all of the rat race she could take
for one day. If she spent another second inside that store
she would implode.
She got in her car.. She sunk down deep in her seat. She clicked on the ignition with a flick of her wrist. The lights immediately followed. She breathed in deep She was relieved. She was safe and free.
All the stress from inside snuck up on her. She felt a weight in her heart and her lungs. Her throat suddenly got stiff, like she would start crying. The feeling quickly subsided.
She fantasized about driving far far away, where her troubles couldnt find her. But she knew that she would run out of gas before she got that far.
Her troubles were like her shaddow,
always with her and never too far away. Even in that looming kind of way
She wishes she could cry. Let it all flow.
Not let pride have a say.
