Take On Me [Retro Music Challenge]
“I will survive,” Carrie murmured to herself. It was just a city. How dangerous could it be? Besides, she wouldn’t have time to be in danger, once she was a famous Broadway star.
“Sure ya will,” Joy said. I have total and complete faith in you. Just don’t die out there; then I’ll be left with pictures of you.”
Carrie sighed loudly as she picked up an awful album from middle school. “Ugh, I should really throw this away. I can’t believe the things I hoard in my room.”
“No way!” Joy cried. “I’ll take it.”
She raised an eyebrow. “Save me. I’m trapped with a music-tasteless teenager.”
“Oh, c’mon, Carrie. You know I love rock ‘n roll. I’m just always in the mood for free music. You know, your flight is in twenty minutes.”
Glancing at her watch quickly, Carrie threw the last packed bag into the trunk. “Right. I’m going now,” she said. “Take on me, New York City.”
