Jeffrey felt that Reykjavik grew tired and melancholy in the fall. He bought a number of colorful umbrellas from a flea market, and left them on municipal statues, public art, and traffic dividers.
“They do look happier to be dry,” a woman said as she passed the rainbow-umbrella-topped concrete pylons.
Jeffrey supposed that glasses-nose-and-moustache disguises could be appealing, too.
