SnuggleBuddy
He smelled like lemons and.. and something else. It was driving me insane. I didn’t honestly give a damn about the movie now, and so I said, “You smell really good.”
He looked down and grinned, “So do you, I can’t stop thinking about you.”
Instantly, we both realized his mistake. He had meant to say, “I can’t stop thinking about it,” about my scent. But instead he had told a little bit more of the truth.
His eyes flickered nervously from me to the screen. I shrugged, snuggled closer, and pretended to let it go.
Something touched my hair, his lips? And then, I heard him humming. It was soft and almost inaudible. It was also quite ironic, to be humming during a slasher horror movie.
But comforting enough. I closed my eyes in content when suddenly he shifted under me and I landed on my side, his warm body gone. He now sat on the other side of the couch with apologetic eyes.
Sally thundered down the stairs with wet hair and I sadly tried to focus on the movie and her gossip.
