In the Woods
We ran out of gas ten miles from town. “SHIT!!!” I screamed, “We are miles away from anything, our cell phones have no towers, and we have no spare gas.” Thinking quietly to myself, the thought that I had left the extra gas can lying next to the garage plopped into my head like a boulder. “Fuck” I thought “this is all my fault.”
“Don’t worry,” said Danny “I can walk to the gas station, grab a gas can and bring us back 5 gallons or so. That will be enough to get us to that gas station, and everything will be good.” I looked around the car and realized that we were in the middle of the woods. Scared to death but trying not to show it, I muttered “I can go with.” But Danny refused, saying it would be safer if someone stayed with the car. Although the voices in my head were screaming body murder to go with him, I decided he was probably right, and satyed by the car. But I never expected that someone was waiting for me too…
