“No way, man.” Jimmy was furious. How could they even think of asking him to do this?! “That is not going to happen!”
“Jimmy, come on!” Sarah pleaded. “You’re the only one left who can do this!”
“No. Uh-uh. Forget it, Sarah.” He looked at Todd. “Todd, I am not risking everything I’ve worked for on this hair-brained scheme. I have a reputation to maintain!”
Todd shook his head. “What you have is a job to do,” he growled. “Look at it this way. You’ve always wanted to be the hero. Well, this guy is pure evil. Scum of the Earth. He deserves it! Robyn tried, but she failed and paid the price for it.” He looked Jimmy in the eye. “You want her sacrifice to be in vain?”
Jimmy sighed. “All right,” he said, resignation heavy in his voice. “I’ll do it.”
They all sat down at the table. Jimmy picked up his dice and said, “Sir Agathorn, Paladin of Torm , reformed assassin for Bane, will avenge his fallen comrade! Darryl, you’re the Dungeon Master. What do I need to roll?”
