Last Temptation of Hezidrixal (p.laure clipping challenge)
Hezidrixal was floating in the moonlight. Though he’d been warned, the moon was too bright and the sky too clear, he couldn’t resist. He loved the cool night air and a dose of danger tempted him wholly.
Ydilla saw him just as he looped the Sequoya, his grey wings wide and his silvery hair flowing. Her blue eyes flashed knowing he’d gotten the message that there was to be no flight in the human realm on this evening.
She leapt from the mountain top where she’d perched. Spreading her massive wings, their colours reflected the lights of the city on the undersides. She’d become master of camouflage, any upturned eye would never see her coming. Especially not him.
The dive stung her eyes yet she kept her focus on the target. Hezidrixal drifted up and the slight shift of feather in Ydilla’s wings brought her crashing into her target. Her fingers sank into his forearms as she carried him to the ground. The massive crater would give them away.
Normally, when angels fall to the earth, no one notices.
