Tears streamed down her cheeks. The door shut gently in her face, but she remained rigid. Her fist clenched. It was harder than she had originally thought.

“What happened?” he asked, and squeezed her hand comfortingly.
“I was exiled,” she whispered. “My family…I’ll never be able to see them ever again, and I’m not allowed on this territory anymore.”
“What? Why?” he drew her close and she looked up into his eyes, smiling through the torrent of shining tears.
