Macy 7: Macy's Meadow
Macy smiled and asked, “So why did Shane leave anyway?”
“Apparently, his grades suck. Ha.” Derrick laughed, but he was still trying to read Macy’s feeling.
“Uh grades. That leads to school. Hey, do you want to skip today? I don’t know, maybe go hang out in the meadow? I still want to hear a poem.”
“Uh…sure I guess. If you want to.” Macy just nodded as they snuck off campus and down the sidewalk to the park.
Derrick stuttered, “Just to let you know, my poem, its not amazing. So tell me what you really think, ok?” Macy nodded again and turned her head to hide a laugh. He playfully pushed her shoulder and she flirted back.
Macy suddenly reached down and closed her fingers around Derrick’s. He blushed and she laughed even harder. Then, they approached the park.
Together, still holding hands, they jumped down the hill into the small meadow. Macy had thought this time to bring a blanket and so they snuggled together under it. Derrick finally sighed, took out his poem and began to read.
