Emily's magasin de fleurs

Emily arranged a vase of orchids, a glaze over her eyes. It had been two weeks since the fire, but now all the evidance was gone. Emily’s Magasin de Fleurs was back in business, flowers portrayed in the shop windows, the door open to let a breeze in. The only thing that was out of place was a little ‘Sale’ section, hosting some of the plants that had survived the fire.

Sighing, Emily looked around. The shop was filled with sunlight, and customers were strolling throuh the tables of plants. A small girl was begging her mother for a trumpet lily, huging the small pot it was in. Everyone in the store was happy, carefree. That exception was Emily herself, who was thoroughly troubled.

A few days ago, while preparing for her store’s ‘Grand Re-Opening’ , Emily had seen someone she wished she had never seen. Her ex-husband was outside the flower shop, looking in one of the windows, right at her. He had abused her, beaten her, threatened to kill her, and even raped her.

“Why, hello there my dear Emily…”
