Inside the Tower of Esimed
When she finally opened her eyes, Isabella found herself completely surrounded by darkness. At first she wasn’t even sure that her eyes were open.
“Where am I?” She thought as she rubbed her eyes. Her brain wasn’t fully functioning yet and her head still hurt from the fall she had just taken – or thought she had just taken.
“I must have passed out after I fell,â? she decided. But just how long she had been unconscious and how she had gotten there, Isabella did not know. When her eyes finally adjusted to the darkness, she was shocked by what she saw.
She was inside of what appeared to be a large underground chamber, which, from what she could discern, was completely filled – floor to ceiling, with unfinished paintings. “How strange”, she silently remarked.
Most of the partially completed pictures appeared to be of melancholy subjects. Scenes of death and dying lay in heaps cluttering the floor of this strange, underground room. Then an idea came to her.
