Roxanne, now 78 in age, was walking down an alley, a shortcut to her home. On her way, she found a girl, crying on the sie of the alley, blood trickling down her arms. A razor lay next to her, blood shining off the blade.

“Oh dear!” Roxanne had cried, rushing to the girl, and leaning down to touch her bleeding arm. At this, the girl jumped up, startled, tears running down her face. “Come child, we must get you fixed up! Your bleeding!”

Roxanne took the child to her house, cleaned her up, and wrapped bandages around the cuts on her arms. She learned that the girl’s parents were fighting, and dragging her in the middle of it. So she started cutting. Roxanne comforted her, giving her an old violin, and instructing her to play it insead of injuring herself.

A month later, Roxanne saw the girl again. The girl came up, thanking Roxanne. Music had helped her get through her parents divorce, and she never cut herself again. She said she felt better than ever, and it was all thanks to Roxanne, and her violin.
